Have a problem with your dentures? Why not consider a proven solution?

Dental Implants can help - let us show you how!
A common reason people are switching to implants is due to a poor fit of their dentures. This can cause difficulty in chewing and a fear of losing the dentures whilst talking or eating. Many people are finding that dental implants are the most desirable solution for missing teeth since implants allow for a new found confidence when smiling, far exceeding the traditional alternative.

What are
dental implants?
The world class ‘Escentika’ spa is part of the Millennium Resort Patong: A Five-Star Resort which is centrally located and only five minutes’ walk from Patong Beach. Moreover, it sits on the doorstep of the must visit and ever popular ‘Bangla Road’.

How do dental implants work?

A dental implant will be placed into the upper or lower jaw bone. After the bone has grown around the implant, the implants can hold a crown, bridge or over-denture just like roots hold natural teeth in place. A single tooth or a full arch of teeth which have been lost due to injury or disease can be replaced with dental implants. Titanium metal is used because of its compatibility with bone and oral tissues.

How long do dental implants last?

Dental implants have been used for over 30 years to replace missing teeth. Implants are very durable, and they can last a lifetime depending upon how you look after them. However, like normal healthy teeth, your implant-supported teeth can still be damaged by trauma and affected by gum disease and poor oral hygiene. Thus, they require the same maintenance as natural teeth including brushing, flossing and regular dental check-ups.

Among a number of restorative options for the treatment of missing teeth, none have proven to be as functionally effective and durable as dental implants. In many cases, dental implants may be the only logical choice for the restoration of all necessary functionality of the teeth and supporting structures.

What are Dental Implants suitable for?

  • Replacing one or more teeth without affecting bordering teeth.

  • Supporting a bridge and eliminating the need for a removable partial denture.

  • Providing support for a denture, making it more secure and comfortable.

  • Improving overall psychological health.

  • Improving aesthetic appearance and overall confidence.

Are you a candidate for Dental Implants?

Candidates for dental implants need to have healthy gums and enough bone to support the implant. A thorough evaluation by a dentist will help determine whether dental implants are right for you.

Dental implantation can be done any time after adolescence or when bone growth is complete. Certain medical conditions, such as active diabetes, cancer or periodontal disease, may require additional treatment before the implant procedure can be performed.

How do you prepare?

As said above that you must have a thorough evaluation in preparation for the process. This may includes taking dental X-rays and making models of your mouth. Make sure you talk to your doctor about any medical conditions you have and any medications you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medications and supplements. A treatment plan is tailored to your particular situation, and it may involve a variety of dental specialists, including an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, a periodontist, and a prosthodontist.

Please note that a higher implant failure rate occurs in people who take immuno-suppressants and in smokers. Since implantation is a type of oral surgery, it is important to ensure that your dentist has the experience and training required for this sensitive procedure.
