Tong Yong Soo Shrine was established more than 100 years. This shrine was located due to the death of Ang Yee descendant living at Kathu district and then there was someone dreaming to their ancestor spirit requiring a place to live. They built a shrine suddenly. Someone called here as “Spirit meeting”. However, there were more 416 ancestors dead in this incident. They were very faithful to the shrine and gave a name for a shrine as “Tong Yong Soo Shrine” that meant the shrine of the brave honest and fair man. Tong Yong Soo Shrine would protect a village and villagers. Moreover, people could find disappeared things. It was informed that there was a Kathu villager feeding a pig and then the pig was lost. He prayed to discover his pig at this shrine after that he found it and got it back. If someone has sworn at Tong Yong Soo Shrine, it will become to be real.
Ceremony / traditions
Tong Yong Soo Shrine annually holds 4 fairs. The fairs bring some money which is deposited at a bank for the next year fair, renovation, purchasing table and chair , community service, helping in education in Kathu district including some wage for a shrine taker also.
