It didn’t appear when a shrine was established but it was informed that a man named “Luang Sunthorn Chine Pracha” donated some land to build this shrine and gave Tai Soo Kong image with other images to install in the shrine. After that Laung Sunthorn Chine Pracha gave the name “Lim Hoo Tai Soo Shrine” but at present people call “Tai Soo Kong Shrine”.
During 1948 to 1949, the shrine began to be renovated. At that time, Pra Tai Soo Kong used Ma Song’s body for the first time. When he spoke, no one understood his words. Then, an expert had to translate again. The background of Lim Hoo Tai Soo was a human. He worked in the royal palace. When he spoke, he always talked in royal words. People asked him to speak in Hokkien language that was easier to understand.
When Lim Hoo Tai Soo was a medium, he cured people from illness by his strange method. Firstly, he analyzed disease, wrote medicine names on the gold paper, specified the weight and then brought the gold paper to put into a clay pot, moved to the front of the shrine, then incensed nine sticks tied with the clay pot, prayed to all holy things. When the nine joss sticks extinguished, patient would pour water into a pot and drank it.
Later, there was a restoration again. Regrettably, the medicine recipe was disappeared while the shrine restoration also. And in 1994, Lim Hoo Tai Soo Shrine was renewed and finished in the year later.Ceremony / traditions
Originally, the vegetarian festival of Lim Hoo Tai Soo would be held at Bang Niew Shrine. In 1995, after new Lim Hoo Tai Soo shrine finished, the shrine held the ceremony and invited Hiew Hoy (holy fire) from Kung Sai in China. Many people participated in the festival which has annually been held since then.
Belief
The villagers who were faithful to Lim Hoo Tai Soo God usually vowed to recover from sickness. Someone bought medicine from Chinese pharmacy and let Lim Hoo Tai Soo God converted to be magical medicine. This was personal belief and faith.
