Over 300 years ago Chinese immigrated to work at Bang Ku village where was a flat between Nang Panthurat valley, Kathu valley and Baan Manik valley. Later, a lot of Chinese flowed to live here until Bang Ku became a big village containing 4-5 thousand population. Moreover, a big group of people, there were many kinds of entertainments such as betting, Chinese opera, cock fighting, etc.
Last hundred years ago, The Chinese who lived at Bang Ku elaborated a model of Pra Sum Pai Kong and erected a shrine covered with corrugated iron 6 meters wide and 8 meters long. The shrine rode on a conceded land of Khun Lertphokaraks and later he gave to Lun Seng mine. Chinese people moved into Baan Bang Ku. Some brought a Buddha image model which they respected such as Pra Sum Kai Kong meaned the god who knew heaven, land and ocean. But after that “Sum Kai Kong” was slightly distorted to “Sum Pai Kong”
The feature of Sum Kai Kong-Bang Ku Shrine was in Chinese style with three twin roofs. The medium one was the tallest where Pra Sum Kai Kong was installed and another Buddha images. The right of the roof was lower than the medium containing Pra Ma Kao Ar Pae. The left of a roof was lower than the medium also placing Pra Pud Jor and another female Buddha images. The specification of shrine was divided into holes for air outlet.Ceremony / traditions
Sum Kai Kong Shrine organizes an important ceremony, Sae Yid Pra Song Tun, the sixtieth anniversary of age held in August.
Belief
Sum Kai Kong Shrine had been left for many years due to an inconvenient transportation and far distance from the main road about 1 kilometer. 20-30 years later, “Chuan Cheun Village” a new village was occurred around a shrine. People here paid their respects to Sum Kai Kong Shrine. Importantly, Pra Sum Kuan Tai Te could cure people from the illness also.
