Sri Panwa | January - Februay 2006

The first launch of Sri Panwa project in Moscow along with the national carrier direct flight in late November was also well responded by the Russian market. Sri Panwa has been widely covered by presses for its unique character, warm hospitality and breathtaking views. Pool Villa of Sri Panwa was on the front cover with an article in the Apartment Living (Thailand base magazine), in Luxury Properties (International) and many more including the new issue of Conde Nast (UK). As the old saying "good things in life are supposed to be shared" and Sri Panwa is quite a remarkable lifetime reward that Khun Songkran and his son, Wan, has nourished and intended for sharing. Word of mouths from presses and media had indeed testified the position of this exceptional lifestyle project, both on property and hospitality side of the Hotel.

December was a truly recovery month of Phuket when most hotel experienced high occupancy. The month started off with the biggest Yacht Race in Asia, 19th Phuket King's Cup Regatta sailed off Kata and South Islands and Koh Racha during December 3-10. There were 96 entries from 18 countries including first time entries from China, Russia and Finland. There were more than 1000 sailors from all corners of the globe including some 200 media and presses. The extensive fleet ranging from 24 footers to 120 footers can be seen from Sri Panwa on selective days when racing course involved passage to South Islands. The event did put the resurgent Phuket once more on the world's attention.

The most auspicious event for Sri Panwa was a visit over the last week of December from a group of 21 foreign Buddhist monks comprised of 14 nationalities led by Phra Archarn Jayasaroh (former abbot of the International Forest Monastery in Ubolrachathani province). The group was invited by the government to bestow religious ceremony in last year several Tsunami stricken areas. The serene overnight at Sri Panwa and the respectful hospitality of Khun Songkran, Khun Srivara Issara and the staff members made this visit a blessing and an auspice of the starting year to come.

Sri Panwa rang in the 2006 New Year at it's Baba dining lounge. It was an intimate party of about 50 honored guests. In between sipping Moet Chandon and feasting on the culinary creations of our kitchen, our guests were able to heat up the dance floor. The tunes were provided by our in-house DJ's Sergei & Wan. Another true highlight of the evening, provided by K. Tui, were the lanterns that were sent into the night sky. Each of our guests had the opportunity to relay a message to those above via their lanterns. The lanterns made the evening even more memorable as our friends sought to get their lanterns in flight the fastest. All of our guests watched as the bright lights were caught up in the Andaman breeze and danced in the night's sky. The New Year was marked with a small speech from the Sri Panwa team and a Moet Chandon Rose toast. Fun was had by all and we hope you can be a part of the party next year!

Adding to the culinary flair of Sri Panwa and it's dining lounge Baba, two internationally known, Michelin star chefs decided to spend some quality time with us. Ian Kittichai from Thailand who is currently at the helm of his new New York City restaurant, Kittichai (located in the 60 Thompsom hotel), was able to take a break from the cold and head back to his beloved Thailand. Stefano Baiocco from Italy, who is the Executive Chef of the prestigious Villa Feltrinelli, was back to visit some old friends. Not only did they enjoy their pool villas and quality time with their friends, they were also able to get their hands dirty in the kitchen. On a very special night, 20 VIP guests were delighted to be at the hands of these culinary masters as well as our own Chef Jimmy. The guests brought their appetites which were quickly filled with a 12-course tasting menu. It was an evening enjoyed by all and the wine was flowing well into the night.

Festive holiday seasons ended in style at Sri Panwa. All these events and parties with additional sales which were closed just before the New Year's Eve party began and some more sale were made a week after the count down night. The season was indeed worth celebrating, both by the developer and all proud Villa owners.

High season is around Phuket with clear blue sky, emerald blue Andaman Sea and vibrant activities on the island. At Sri Panwa, many neighbors have moved into their villas and the Pool Villa Hotel is up and running with satisfactory responses. The hill top community is completed with construction of 8 villas and pool villas in Phase 2 going on selective plot on lower ground. With dense foliage and well preserved natural contour in Phase 1 development, those construction sites are well hidden, once one arrives on the project.

Not only trees that stand tall to give shade and privacy to each villa but also tropical flora and fauna are very much in their natural stage.  Our hilltop tropical wood boasts some rare species such as horn bills which migrated from nearby island, monkeys, squirrels, and many tropical birds which form a natural orchestra in bright sunny day.  A pride of Phuket for its environmentally friendly development, Sri Panwa has set a sample standard for all property developments on the island.  Khun Udomsak Asawarangkul, the Governor of Phuket has used the project as a successful model of green development where he proudly showed his visitors over several site visits.

If there could be a vote on most livable community on Phuket Island, Sri Panwa would have scored highly. For the development, that not only delivers the best man made dwelling and facilities but also manages to preserve its natural surrounding in its top form. A Cape of its own character where mountains meet the sea, a mature lifestyle community and a place where many proud villa owners call "home", Sri Panwa has fulfilled all prerequisites to be in its present position today.
