Khun Somboon Pinchaisiri

Khun Somboon Pinchaisiri is an original resident of Phuket province. He obtained a bachelor degree from the Faculty of Agricultural Science from Thammasat University. He commenced working about marketing and automobile business planning research for 15 years. During working, he traveled between Japan and Thailand for studying about marketing planning over there. After working at the automobile company, he found new experience but still was automobile experience. The following company he worked for was big and provided car spares parts; here he had so many chances to travel around Thailand. For a while, he quitted the job to deal with political work. He became a consultant of a deputy minister. At that time, the stock marker was booming, and then he played the stock market. Later, he turned to work about land as well.

S.P.A. Water Drinking

During 1995-1996, the unstability of the value of the Baht was occurred. He thought if the situation was like that, it would not good.  By chance, a drinking water company in Phuket announced to sell its business. Khun Somboon was interested in this business and then he examined it but he did not purchase. At that period, his elder brother, the president of Tambol Administration Organization, told that during Mr. Chuan Leakphai being the Prime Minister, he visited the drinking water factory whose area was found many mining resources, the government cabinet wanted to fill trashes in this area but Khun somboon’s elder brother claimed. Later, the cabinet dipped some water to analyze at The Ministry of science and technology. It was discovered that the area was a good water resource. It was suggested to keep the resource to feed Phuket citizens in the future. When Khun Somboon knew this information, he concerned about it and learned about water market for 2 years. Later, he invited his relatives to do this business because Phuket Market was good and water consumption in Phuket mainly came from the Central part of Thailand. Initially, S.P.A Drinking Water Company was established in 1996.

We learned about drinking water market for 2 years

He learned about drinking water market for 2 years, and then his factory was opened on 1^st April, 1999. After that he had a good chance to be the vice chairman of Thailand Drinking Water. He studied about a high water filter process and then Reverse Osmosis was used for obtaining good quality drinking water including Ozone was used for being a germicide.

At the beginning, he felt absolutely tired because no way for local drinking water company would grow as well as doing marketing was difficult and his company was not famous. As he was a local and had a lot of friends, he had an opportunity to meet and know more government officers. They took a look at his factory and cheered him up to continue this business. They were confident that the drinking water market would be growing certainly. With his ability, experience and his marketing personality, this business has been run till present.

For the distinctive points of S.P.A. water, Khun Somboon said “For making drinking water, mainly we use quality engines as well as our staffs are professional and efficient. Every process is significant because it is easily risky to get infected. The drinking water contained in bottles must surely be clean.”

In 2005, public health officers trained about GMP to all drinking water companies. And our company was the first who received GMP in Phuket. Also, we obtained OTOP 5 Stars brand, Halale Brand and HTTP brand which obviously guarantee our quality. Khun Somboon added “Our main clients are foreigners who tell to others by mouth to mouth including big hotels. Nowadays, we rarely have to find clients.”

For the future plan, Khun Somboon explained “Drinking water business is daily expanding. Everyone needs water to survive from cradle to grave. Drinking water market in Phuket is growing, hotels and other businesses are increasing everyday. Then, we have to expand our production to support these businesses. Importantly, we still keep good quality to meet clients’ groups. Another interesting thing is making tube ice.”

Khun Somboon’s principle in work is to be patience, diligent, keep the quality and do the best for clients to get the best things. For the principle in life, he mentioned “To be simple, love family, stay with family and on weekend, I always spend time with myself and my family.”

Finally, Khun Somboon concluded “Every drop of S.P.A drinking water is quality and we will maintain the quality permanently.”

Khun Somboon is a successful person. He received a reward of the excellent leader in career in 2005. He has also worked for numerous organizations such as organizing some events or parties for Phuket Wittayalai School, doing botanical garden project, working for Rotary club, and being consultant for local organizations.
