Khun Aphinan Duangkaw, the Director of Red Sun Stone Show, is an original resident from Bangkok. He told us that after graduation at high vocational level in 1989, he came to Phuket as he did not know for what reason he came here. Then, he relaxingly sat at a police box at Tharue Intersection; he saw a car of a construction company passing. Later, he asked a driver about job available, after that he got a job and worked there. This was a good starting point of Khun Aphinan.
Later in 1996 – the bubble economy period, the business was much declined. He left his last amount of money, then he decided to spend that money to open fried meatball shop. After 3 months, a man invited him to work in Singapore because he had ever heard about Khun Aphinan’s fame and ability. When Khun Aphinan came back from Singapore, he consistently got small contractor jobs.
Unfortunately, Tsunami situation took away his possessions of his project approximately 2 million Baht. From, this bad luck, he left nothing and could do nothing. Fortunately, a generous person assisted him, this person was confident in Khun Aphinan’s working proficiency and many abilities as the person used some property to guarantee Khun Aphinan in job application. He added “if there is no this person to help him, Red Sun Stone will not be well-known as in the present”.
For Khun Aphinan’s working principle, “someone told me that having money makes work progressive but satisfaction and beauty are what customers prefer. To do a good thing is easy but to satisfy someone is difficult. Therefore, the best principle in working is to do the best because 5 people have absolutely different ideas for the same work. It is known that the standard of satisfaction of each person is different. And for the price, we will let customers to propose the price which they can pay and then we will create work suitable for the budget. The work must be worth for the budget as well” he said.
For khun Aphinan’s future plan, he narrated that he would find a person who could replace his position because he dreamt to move his family to Langkawi Island where no one knew him and he did not know anyone. He would like to quietly and conveniently relax and it was not bustle. But now, he has never found that person whom he dreamt about.
A good teaching from Khun Aphinan’s a respected person is that “Only competence is not enough but must be superior also”. What he gets from this teaching is excellently used for his work whether working with employee. “This reminds me to carefully speak, think before speaking out”. Although we are smart, we are still inferior; our competence may not be worth at all. So, competence and superior in good ways make us successful easily and also people will gladly give us reliance.
