Let’s know the owner of Art de Phunara
Khun Kitti Soonthornchareonnont, the owner of Art de Phunara is a native from Songkla province. He obtained a bachelor degree of Economics from Thammasat University and master degree of Business Administration from Prince of Songkla University. Due to his love and interest in art, then he opened a uniquely exclusive arts and home décor business on Srisoontorn Road in Phuket. Additionally, his relative, an art teacher at Srinakharinwirot University gives him art consultation. Moreover, Khun Kitti takes his relative’s valuable paintings and artwork to show at Art de Phunara.
The interest in doing business in Phuket
Khun Kitti informed that due to his interest in home decoration, he wanted to do this business here. And Phuket was the best place because it was known as a tourism city. Most clients might be foreigners. Then, he chose to run a business here. He added that he loved the sea and started his business 1-2 months before the Tsunami. Initially, he reserved a space at JungCeylon department store but it could not open as the schedule. Khun Kitti could not bear of the space. Therefore, he found a location at Laguna area where gathered a lot of foreign residents. Later, he opened Art de Phunara in January, 2007.The featured points of the products are uniqueness and different designs…
For the featured points of the products, Khun Kitti cited “Our products are not found in the general markets. We differently design by ourselves”. Besides, general artwork, designs and antiques are provided here. Importantly, Khun Kitti creates artworks by himself. This uniquely distinctive product that he is proud to present features a chess set on granite board depicting the Thai historical Ramayana brass figurines. For those who love playing chess whether Thai or foreigners, they can aesthetically enjoy playing this chess set.
Customer groups are foreign residents in Phuket.
Most clients of Art de Phunara are nearly 100 % foreign residents in Phuket. Some are tourists but not much because the products here are quite big. So, it is not convenient to transport to their homes. At the present, the shop is trying to supply smaller products in order to meet clients’ needs and comfort. Anyway, Art de Phunara offers you reliable packaging and worldwide professional shipping too.

Obstacles in work & Marketing
Obstacles in work are the Laguna location where is quite far and another is that it’s a new shop and not popular. For the marketing plan, now Art de Phunara has its own website, the online showroom to present its unique products to clients. Moreover, some outstanding advertisements on phuketindex.com and Art & Culture magazine are good sources for widespread advertising.
Working principles are sincerity and loyalty to clients
Khun kitti focused that Working principles were sincerity, loyalty to clients, giving them true information and not lying for sale. In case of dishonesty to customers, they won’t use the services anymore when the truth is discovered. To sell honesty to customers is the best way to sell products.
Show room and art gallery are Khun Kitti’s future plans.
For the future plans, Khun Kitti thought that if this business was growing well, we would expand to show room and art gallery included numerous artists’ masterpieces here.

Chess set on granite board depicting the Thai historical Ramayana brass figurines
However, Khun Kitti proudly explained that he made the chess set on granite board depicting the Thai historical Ramayana brass figurines because he would like to promote Thai background and literature to foreigners. Because the foreigners liked to play chess, then he applied this chess set depicting the Thai historical Ramayana figurines for them to play the valuably unique Thai cultural chess. Also, this could be home decorative item which well expressed each lifestyle.
Another thing he emphasized was to conserve Thai antiques because great Thai cultural things were melting as days went by. For amateur antique collectors, it’s necessary to examine which one’s real or fake and buy from reliable antique shops.
When you want to decorate your home with paintings and antiques uniquely created and blended between original with contemporary and traditional flavours, Art de Phunara is your answer.story@phuketindex.com
