How did she start this business?
Initially, It is because of her fondness in nail manicure and nail extension. She old us that she lived in Phuket formerly; there was no nail extension service here. So, she had to go to Bangkok to have her nail extended always. Later, her husband moved to Bangkok. She had chance to learn about nail manicure over there. One day, she went to have her nail extended at Khun Maem Siriwipa’s nail salon, the Thailand’s famous super star and MC. She had to spend 5,000 Baht for her nail extension. When her husband knew about it, he suggested her to open her own nail salon.
Ability to do nail manicure and decoration…
After that, Khun Natwara turned to study Nail paint and she could do it very well. This encouraged her to love nail manicure and decoration more. She then had an inspiration and moral support to get further study about it. She knows everything about nail care. During Khun Natwara’s study, her husband didn’t allow her to work. He just wanted her to concentrate on it and didn’t want her to be too serious or work too hard.

Opening a nail salon at Tesco Lotus
Afterward, Khun Natwara returned to Phuket again. She wanted to open a nail salon but was not allowed by her husband due to her baby. Recently, Khun Natwara contacted to rent a space at Tesco Lotus. Fortunately, it was available. Finally, her husband agreed to let her do but she might not be too serious.
A wide range of nail care and decoration services
About the services of Phuket Nail Art, Khun Natwara reported that there was a wide range of nail care and decoration services from manicure - pedicure and nail extension by acrylic or gel decoration. Also, she uses quality products such as the imported product from America “EzyFlow”, an acrylic and “IBD”, for hand & foot spa. For nail paint, she uses the imported product from Australia because its colours are more beautiful and smoother than others. Besides, some nail polish products which are not too expensive are imported from Korea. Here, she focuses on quality products and durable. As well as, she realizes in clients’ safety; before utilizing products with customers, she has to test first.
Loyalty towards clients…
The featured point of Phuket Nail Art is the loyalty towards clients. “Some guests ask for a discount and I tell them that the offered price is standard, not higher than elsewhere. I calculate only labor cost excluding equipment cost. Even though, I don’t take much profit, I don’t want to be debit. Moreover, our quality is not less than others”. Khun Natwara added.

Clients’ necessity to get nail decoration…
However, she gives an importance to clients’ necessity. She will see if customers are essential to get nail decoration. If not, she will tell guests or suggest them to do something necessary for their daily lives like sculptured nail (3D in-out). She will ask whether they do it for the party. If they insist to do, she will serve them. Another important thing is the cleanness in the salon. It must be always clean. And Phuket Nail Art is open everyday from 09.30 am. to 09.00 pm.
Nail decoration training courses are available here…
Apart from nail manicure - pedicure, nail decoration training courses are available here with the cheap rates at 2,500 Baht only (Not including equipment cost). After opening this nail salon for a month, numerous students have applied to join the courses. She intends to teach every student until they can do well. Khun Natwara emphasized “Certificate is not important. In the contrary, skill, friendly reception and attention to customers are more important”. The majority of her clients are middle-aged people and a small number of teenagers can be found here too.
Good services and skills attract clients to come to our nail salon consistently.
For marketing plan, she stated that she did not plan it but was waiting for more skilled staffs. Most of clients are told by word of mouth. “I believe to get consistent clients if we offer them good services, skill and practice”. Additionally, staff is an importance factor. The staffs have to smile, be friendly, have concentration in work and regularly practice their skills.
For the future plan, Khun Natwara underlined that new branches would be expanded soon. “At the moment, I am waiting for a space. It’s not enough and I’ll open a nail salon school as well. Nail manicure is a kind of art work and I adore it a lot. I try to serve satisfaction to customers. Many clients give me some useful ideas such as Henna Hand Spa and Henna Body Paint. When they use the services here, they wouldn’t like to go elsewhere. This urges me to seek more experienced staffs to serve the clients full services in the future”.
