Company background
Khun Pakapop Chor Charoenying (Khun Tong), the owner of I CID Co., Ltd, graduated from Rangsit University about interior design in 1997. After that, he was a freelancer for 6-7 years before running his own company founded in 2004. During his study in the university, he worked as well. After his graduation, he worked alone then he though that working alone had alone potential. Some clients want to work with a firm. Later, he opened his company for expanding his business too.

Until I CID has opened the head office in Bangkok and its branch in Phuket…
Initially, the head office was established in Ratchadamri area for one year. The transportation was in difficulty because of the traffic jam. Then, Khun Pakapop bought a home office which was more comfortable. “The majority of work emphasizes on sample houses. Main clients are from my colleagues suggesting other customers by word of mouth. Afterwards, I expand my business and team”. He cited.

 

Marketing plan by word of mouth
He presented his portfolio to clients and they suggested by word of mouth to others. For the method to get a lot of customers, Khun Pakapop told “I have many friends working for property. I am responsible for interior design for a sample house, and then the client is delighted. I get lots of work. So, I don’t have any marketing plan. My work is taken by my colleagues”.

Furthermore, two years ago Khun Pakapop had an opportunity to work for hotels in Phuket. He was dealing with the sample room called Grand Villa at Marina Cottage Hotel. Later, the hotel owner contacted him to do interior design for other rooms.

Advantages of I CID Co., Ltd
Khun Pakapop added “Customer service, working style, we give them first. We do the layout free of charge for them and then present sample work to them”. He focuses on customers’ satisfaction including quality work and materials. At the beginning, there were many problems. We adapted to those and told the truth to clients including reasonable prices. Our company doesn’t compare prices to other markets. We intend and examine all work. We have an inspector to control and serve clients as our presentation. Therefore, most of our customers are satisfied with our work. Some are disappointed because there maybe have some accidents.

The customer group of I CID., Ltd
Firstly, our customers are Thai, later numerous foreigners like Korean, German, Scottish and Indian use our service. They will tell by word of mouth to others. When any problem occurs, we will solve it promptly. Consequently, they are pleased with our service.

Management with sharing opinions
When moving to Phuket, we adjust some working procedure. Originally, the head office and factory were set in Bangkok. The production Manager takes care and controls technicians and staffs. For the factory, we have a developed warehouse keeping all materials. In the office, there are designers, accountants and inspectors.

 

Meeting, planning and brainstorming
We have a weekly meeting. Our staffs consist of over 10 persons in the office. Every staff may have some problems; we always talk and share ideas to each other.

Focusing on examination of every process and modern office equipment
We use modern office equipment. Our inspectors will examine the quality of work that must be standard, construction, and working timetable. All clients highly expect their quality houses. With our attention to customers, we always think how to satisfy customers the most.

Encouragement to expand the business to Phuket  
“I have client base here and I think working for residence is not similar to working for hotel. Business work is long for 5-10 years; in the contrary, residential work is greatly longer. This makes me proud to see what I have done with much intention stays long”. Khun Pakapop added.

Future plan
For the future plan, Khun Pakapop mentioned “I try to look for residential market group. I am sure it will be growing in the future”.

Before leaving, Khun Pakapop suggested “For those who want to get the house interior designed, before getting it done, there should be a complete plan. From my experience, some clients want to save interior design fare. Actually, there is no plan; demolition is happened if they are unpleased. This loses much money or more than interior design fare. I would like to suggest having a good plan for reducing unessential expenses and difficulty. Then, you will be happy with interior design for your house”.
