Today we would like you to see Mr. Ekkachai Pongnarit; the executive of Chainarit Phuket Engineering Co., Ltd., only one selling agent of the products of air filter system and water filter system in the area of 14 provinces in the south of Thailand.

Interviewer: Can you please tell us a little about yourself?
Ekkachai: I was born in Phuket. I have got bachelor degree of Mechanical Engineering from Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Campus. After that I worked at a factory where produce electronics parts, hardisk reader types of K.R.T. Cision Pub., Co., Ltd.,
Interviewer: What department did you work for?
Ekkachai: I worked at the Facility Department. I took care of public utility, such as water system, electricity system and air conditioners. I have got knowledge and experience about checking and treatment the water quality. I also have got good opportunities from the company. I have always been trained about the water quality from high-qualified experts as PH.D level. And I have known the selling company of air filter at that time.
Interviewer: Checking of water quality in the factory. Does it mean waste water system?
Ekkachai: It also means waste water system. Anyway the major process is controlling of water quality as it is used for washing electronics parts which needs very clean water.

Interviewer: How has Chainarit Engineering established?
Ekkachai: As I have told that I had contacted with selling agent of the air filter which used in hospitals and factories before. After I had worked for 5 years, then I had an idea to be a selling agent of air filters, then I have applied for it for the area of 14 provinces in the South. So this is the establishment of Chainarit Phuket Engineering Co., Ltd.,
Interviewer: How is the filter which is used for hospitals and factories different from normal filter?
Ekkachai: The efficiency of filter will be higher as it is able to filter germ.
Interviewer: That means the business has begun by selling air filter, then how has the water system setting started?
Ekkachai: When selling air filters, I have also contacted with customers. After setting up and post sell service. Most of customers have also got inquiries about water filter system and quality of water. I have thought that my knowledge and skills, which I have got when working at the factory, would be able to advise the customers. And it could really please them very much.
Interviewer: Therefore you have been interested into water filter system business?
Ekkachai: Of course. As I have knowledge and skills in it and it has got good outcome from customers.
Interviewer: Does checking of water quality include pools?
Ekkachai: Yes, we have services of setting, maintaining, cleaning and being a selling agent of chemical, which is for checking of water quality in the pools.

Interviewer: What is the plan for the future of Chainarit Engineering.?
Ekkachai: Generally, I think if in the future, we could not get another water resource, Phuket could never avoid the lack of water problem, especially hotel business. Therefore I have looked through the process of circulating seawater to fresh water.
Interviewer: As we know the cost is very high, isn’t it?
Ekkachai: Yes, it costs too high for households, but it is worth to invest for business. At present, hotels at Samui and Phi Phi Island are also using this technology as it is very worth while.
Interviewer: Oh, you have also set up it at Phi Phi Island and Samui?
Ekkachai: Certainly, our service has covered whole 14 provinces in the South. We have enough teamwork for these.
Interviewer: What is your aim for the customers?
Ekkachai:Our market is wide. We have many types of customers such from households to industries.
We majority give advice to our customers. |

Interviewer: What is the prominence of your business?
Ekkachai: We majority give advice to our customers especially give them the knowledge about the system so that they are able to solve basic problems or to check the system generally.
Interviewer: It sounds that your job concerns specific technique mainly.
Ekkachai: Certainly, I am lucky that I have both studied form theories and have practiced when working at the factory so I am able to set it up, to maintain and to repair it. I have got to know it through and how to manage it when it has problems.
Interviewer: The experience has helped you a lot.
Ekkachai: I accept that about 70% - 80% of the success comes from my work experience.
Interviewer: Do you have another business besides Chainarit Phuket Engineering Company?
Ekkachai: I also have family-run business selling building materials. These two businesses could support each other as we get an advantage in stock and pricing.
Interviewer: What is the philosophy of your job?
Ekkachai: Only one thing that I have always done is “ Be honest and Do not take an advantage from customers” such as we will never change the quality of goods; spare parts or accessories for cutting costs. I believe that what we have done, will be our representative forever. It’s hard to get an honor, but it’s easy to lose it.”
Interviewer: How about the designs?
Ekkachai: Our designs are mixed between the European Life Style and the characters of Eastern Style that can be really used.
