Mr. Eric Smulders and Mrs. Elisabeth Cassegrain have converted two old Chinese shophouses into a magnificent gallery. Mr Eric Smulders comes from a Dutch industrial family. His great grand father owned one of the largest collections of Dutch Old Masters, part of which is still in the family's possession. With Art running through his veins, Mr. Eric Smulders is now famous for creating the largest western Art Gallery in Asia.
Soul of Asia will show you our choices which we consider good artists with decorative and collectible value. Especially the Lacquer Painting art is worth considering as this very laborious (it may take 3-6 months to make one artwork) technique is limited to Vietnam and gives a wonderful 3D effect to the mainly religious subjects.
