| 29th June 2006, 09.00 Am. Mr. Worapot Rathasrima, Vice-Phuket Governor is a chairman in the host of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) conference about “Security Revolution of South East Asia” at Phuket Operation Center (POC).
Vice-Phuket Governor said that Phuket welcomes in setting up this seminar and ready to help in everything such as accommodation, safe, transportation, food and communication.
Mr. Sompol Wanitapan, Vice-Secretariat of the House representative says “this seminar is a survey location for of the “Security Revolution of South East Asia” by a parliament will be a host with IPU and a Center of Democracy of Geneva Army. And the seminar is caused of Inter-Parliamentary Union Council conference in October 2005 that proposed to arrange a South East Asia seminar in last July 2005 in Latin America. The seminar emphasized in a region & national aspect to revolution in security and manage all challenge things which facing so IPU has selected Thailand is a host of nearly seminar at Phuket. IPU agrees with Thailand has an important role for security problems in regional level. In 2007 the seminar will be 116th and there are member countries from IPU in Asia and Pacific areas including to other organizations that concerned about 300 people from 25 countries. A location for this seminar is not sure but Phuket has contacted to Sheraton Grande Laguna Hotel, Grace Land Hotel and other hotels especially this seminar. Seminar budget will be in 3,500,000 financial amounts. Thai Council will be responsible in the expenses of hire an expert and management. The seminar of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) will be hold up in 1-2 September 2006 at Phuket.”
