Phuket dissents with proposal of lengthen demolition houses

On 26 June 2006, 30 people of Prabaramee village, Soi 8, Patong led by Mr. Chalee Nookaew, a represent villager hand in the document to the Phuket governor, Mr. Udomsak Assawarangkul for review all a command of demolish the buildings on public area on last 22nd June but villagers didn’t let to do anything and want to consult to find ending. So Mr. Niwit  Aroonrat, the deputy of Phuket receives their requirement at Phuket City Hall.

In the document is about Prabaramee community, Soi 8 has many houses with over 200 people. But now the people are really in the trouble from the demolition and cancel to use electricity and bring to has a conference, so the summary is

1. Slow down by Phuket Municipality announcement on demolish buildings that construct or modify on public area.
2. Require to hold up a conference for considering in solution of residences.
3. Require for electricity in during of slow down.

After that 6 represent of the village meet a deputy of Phuket and concerned people that consist of Mr. Supot  Suwanchote, the Phuket Land officer, Mr. Khantee  Silapa, the sheriff of Kathu district and Phuket protection officer. They took time for 2 hours and the villagers require 15 days to demolition and they will know more about public land information.

However, Phuket doesn’t accept in their 3 proposals because their proposal will make more problems and there’s no ending. So Phuket still confirm to demolish and allow a Patong mayor report to police for prosecution all of people who construct houses on public area.
