| Phuket Provincial administration, Phuket Educational Office and the Foundation of Environment and Energy Development held the volunteer training of recycling material bank in the school. The activity was a part of developing project of managing garbage. This training had been held for 2 days; on June 20, 2006 at Youth Centre of Phuket Civil Municipal and on June 21, 2006 at Developing and Promoting Station of Wildlife Conservation at Khao Prathaew. Each training was attended by 7 schools.
Mr. Somkit Srisatchung, Engineering Director of Phuket Provincial administration, said that the activity of recycling material bank in the school which was held last year was very successful. 9 thousand members from 30 schools attended this activity. We got recycling materials for 23 tons.
On this year, we would follow the result of recycling material banks in the all 30 schools. We would expand the project into 15 requesting schools. So far, we and school executives held the meeting to conclude the activity inform the working system and appoint the workers. We held the training in order that attendants understood how to sort out many waste correctly.
Mrs. Unchalee Wanit Thepphaboot, Chairman of Phuket Provincial administration, said that the waste management was very important. The recycling material bank in the school would be the beginning point to solve the garbage problem. This activity would make a common sense in managing waste and care for environment. The attendants of this activity can give the other school and community information about managing garbage.
